Type locality: Tsiama Forest, Congo

Diagnosis

Male is similar to E. vrijdaghi by (a) head, thorax and sometimes Abd tip with reddish markings with maturity; (b) eyes red in life; (c) anal vein terminates level to distal border of quadrilateral; (d) legs dull yellow to reddish with dark blotches; (f) ventral process of cerci triangular, anterior border at acute angle to posterior border. However, differs by (1) antehumeral stripes narrower, rather than wider than dark area between them; (2) apical process of paraprocts pointed, rather than rounded. However, note that the holotype of E. vrijdaghi has paraprocts and antehumerals more like as illustrated for E. tsiamae by Dijkstra & Clausnitzer (2014) and thus further study of the complex is needed (Dijkstra et al. 2015). Habitat description

Mostly streams, but also rivers, in open areas in forest. Probably often with blackwater, mostly with a sandy bottom. From 300 to 500 m above sea level.
